Hank Dunlap III has provided voters with clear stances on key issues by responding to the 2024 Political Courage Test.
| Pro-life | Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade? | ||
| Although I support the overturning of Roe v. Wade, I believe ultimately there needs to be at the federal level a legal definition of what constitutes a human life. Preferably, with a constitutional amendment. Until this is done, the individuals that desire to kill defenseless babies will not stop with their crusade. | |||
| No | Do you support expanding federal funding to support social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare? | ||
| Yes | Do you support a decrease in income taxes in order to balance the budget? | ||
| No | Do you support a wealth tax in order to pay for public programs? | ||
| We have a serious impending financial crisis that is threatening the benefits that Veterans and the elderly are dependent on. The interest on the debt has surpassed Defence and Medicare and is now only second to Social Security as our largest expenditure. Last year, revenue was not sufficient to cover the mandatory spending so the entirety of discretionary was borrowed or printed. With interest on the debt growing at such a rate, it is projected that this year $800 billion of mandatory spending will also be borrowed or printed. With consumer debt at $17 trillion and credit card debt at $1.2 trillion, there is no way the issue will be solved or even helped through increased revenue. I am convinced our only hope is to open up our economy by removing restrictive regulations that favor corporations and drastically cut spending to a majority of federal agencies that have lost the trust of the American people anyway and therefore are of little value. I would also be in favor of and fully support the repealing of the 16th amendment. | |||
| Yes | Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals? | ||
| The best solution is to remove the federal government from being such an overbearing intrusion into every aspect of people's lives. With less power and less money there would be less incentive for large entities to have a vested interest in government and thereby less corruption. | |||
| No | Do you support protecting government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct? | ||
| This is not a privilege exercised by the majority of the people. If anything, those in public service should be held to higher standard. If there are underlying causes to the misconduct such as poor training or corruption for example, it is best that these things are brought to light so they can be corrected. No system is perfect, and mistakes will be made but truth and justice should always be the goal. | |||
| No | Do you support increasing defense spending? | ||
| I support an increase in accountability of those in leadership positions responsible for our national security. I believe that America's greatest strength internationally is the influence of our massive economy. | |||
| No | Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth (e.g. grants, tax incentives)? | ||
| No | Do you support the federal government increasing funding for affordable housing programs? | ||
| No | Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation? | ||
| I am not opposed to discussions focusing on elimination of the Federal Reserve. | |||
| No | Do you support the forgiveness of federal student loan debt? | ||
| Forgiveness of federal student loan debt is redistribution of wealth. | |||
| Yes | Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls? | ||
| Responsibility of legislating and enforcement should be retained at the state level. | |||
| No | Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the federal government allowing permits for drilling on public lands? | ||
| Trick question. I believe the federal government should relinquish control of all non-essential property. | |||
| No | Do you generally support gun-control legislation (e.g. red flag laws, boyfriend loopholes)? | ||
| I support rescinding National Firearm Act of 1934, Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, Gun Control Act of 1968, 18 U.S. Code Chapter 44, FOPA of 1986 including House Amendment 777. | |||
| No | Do you support a government-run (e.g. single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All? | ||
| No | Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave benefits (e.g. maternity leave)? | ||
| No | Should the government be able to regulate the cost of prescription drugs? | ||
| There are no examples of the federal government imposing itself into the marketplace where it doesn't devolve into an enticement for greed and corruption. | |||
| Yes | Do you support increasing security along the southern US border? | ||
| No | Do you support requiring immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship, regardless of their immigration status? | ||
| If a person enters the country illegally, they should be deported with no opportunity to ever regain entry or become a citizen. Those that would be considered DACA, should be deported but allowed to remain eligible to apply for entry and citizenship. | |||
| Yes | Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts? | ||
| No | Do you support the US providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine? | ||
| I am opposed to all foreign aid until the US has its fiscal matters resolved. | |||
| No | Do you generally support increased regulations on social media companies (e.g. Tik Tok, Facebook, etc.)? | ||
| Any civil or criminal matters should be addressed at the state level with any federal involvement only acting as a resource. There should be harsh penalties for any federal government personnel who manipulate or intimidate those companies into promoting propaganda or suppressing free speech. | |||
| 1. Reduce nearly all discretionary spending to only what is constitutionally obligated. 2. Amendment of Constitution to define what constitutes Human Life. 3. Sever Federal relationships with all entities that hold DEI or ESG or any form of Anti-American philosophies. No funding required. There is no money left. |
